  • Is this Alice Lon, the Champagne Lady before Norma Zimmer? Alice was fired because she dared to put her leg up on a table during a song showing more of her leg than Welk thought was decent.

  • This is Champagne Lady, Roberta Linn - Before Alice Lon. This film was recorded a few years before the debut on national Television.

  • @kittiesarebest This, of course is Roberta Linn, Champagne Lady before

Alice Lon. Roberta left around late 1953, thereby paving the way for Alice, but

Alice was not fired from the show, she simply left abruptly during a vacation

Lawrence took around early summer 1959. Stories about showing too much

knee or leg (take your pick), or short skirts were "a lot of baloney" according

to Lawrence's producer at the time Ed Sobol. Quoted by Lawrence in his

    autobiography.

  • She looks a lot like the Lennon Sisters Mom ... Sis !
