the ground game is underrated in modern judo.many judoka disrespect this way of winning. i won a complete turnament because most of the competitors didnt have ground skills....

@hillpaintball i think they should just give you 30 seconds total from the second one of the hits the ground with 3 points ( for instance knee's and a arm) a 30 second countdown should begin and in that time you can do your stuff

i think the time limit on the ground is nice because it speeds up the fight when the fighters know they will be stood up while in BJJ there is plenty of time given to advance a technique, i do wish it were a bit longer though because I have faced people who have just tried to sit in a defensive position for 5 seconds and not let me advance so we get stood up, I know its just playing the game but I wish we had a bit more time on the floor, 5 seconds is cruel. (the pin count is nice though)

@84justincase And you could also see that most of these submission were done by Japanese judoka of the Kosen flavor BEFORE the Brazilians ever put on a gi.

The armlock starting at :50 is great, before this I'd only seen it used in Sambo.
