Side cut only flap lift enhancement for the prevention of epithelial ingrowth post MK lasik

This video shows the technique for side cut only flap lift to decrease the incidence of epithelial ingrowth after enhancement surgery of an old MK made flap. The the outline of the old flap is marked at the slit lamp with needle puctures to the epithelium and these areas are then stained with a plastic surgery marker. The IntraLase flap is then made within this area (about .3-.5 mm smaller diameter and 20 microns deeper than the original flap) and lifted with both Slade and Seibel spatulas. Laser treatment is done as usual.
