Film Photography Podcast (FPP) host Michael Raso introduces you to one of Polaroid's coolest cameras...The Polaroid "Big Shot!" Released in 1971, this camera is most famous for being the camera-of-choice for Andy Warhol. He shot many of his 1970s portraits using this very camera. The most awesome thing - you can still buy a Big Shot and film (now made by Fujifilm)!!!
The Film Internet Radio Show! - http://www.filmphotographypodcast.com/
Cameras & Film - http://filmphotographystore.com/

The BIG SHOT uses film produced by FujiFilm:
FP-100c (Color) / FP-100b (BW) / FP-3000b (BW - with proper ND filters)

What is FPP?
The Film Photography Project seeks to inform, engage and inspire amateur and professional photographers working in the traditional film medium. Launched by FPP founder Michael Raso in 2009, FPP provides a forum for photographers from around the globe to share their creative output, challenges and product reviews, while promoting the viability of vintage cameras and film through frequent give-aways and exchange programs. In addition to the Film Photography Podcast Internet Radio Show, the Film Photography Project network of imprints includes the FPP Flickr Page, YouTube Channel, Facebook Group, Twitter Account, newsletter and the Film Photography Project Store.

  • Do these things take a specialized kind of battery like the Land Cameras? Also, does it have to have the flash to work?

  • @theolivetree95 Hi, No battery needed for the Polaroid BIG SHOT! It will work without the flash in daylight but flash (Magicube) is recommended.

  • How would you make a silkscreen print from a neg? I'm baffled! Haha

  • @StickyVinny I am so happy you asked! You Tube will not allow me to post a URL here so GOOGLE "Andy-Warhol-Up Your Photographs" Have Fun -Mike

  • Purchased one of these beasts last month but haven't fed it any film yet, thanks for the helpful tips!

  • Hi, first of all thanks for the video! I am going to receive mine in a week or so...can't wait. I never used fp100c film, I was still able to find 669. I am curious about the final picture in this video. I watched this: "How to use a Polaroid Colorpack Camera" and after peeling it apart, final picture looks different than the one in this video. Can you tell me what's going on? :) I am referring to the grey paper borders.

    Thanks a lot.

  • i have a few polaroids laying around waiting to be fed film, and once i get the money together their appetites will be satiated

  • @StickyVinny Its old school silkscreening. They use Sunlights and chemicals to burn the image on the screeen. My uncle still does it this way! Pretty Cool :)

  • Wow. I had a "Big Swinger" film pack and i ruined it because i didn't load it the right way. I felt so distraught. Hopefully i will learn to do this properly and get some more film!

    Awesome vids btw!
