If Warren is correct, and every life has a purpose defined by God before you were born, then God has some explaining to do in regards to Hitler, Stalin, and Pol Pot, among others.

If the PDL is so real or from God then why is there SIN called 17 manifestations of the flesh called SIN we are born with so then the bible says to die daily because SIN abounds and the Apostle Paul saif there is NOTHING good within us. So, a 40 day oddesy to find what? The bible has for neearly 5800 years clearly told us our purpose is and some guy now wants to redefine what the bible says we really are or clarity of things God has said. Blasphemy! pure rebellion!

@GrannyD1951 Try Robert M Price's excellent book, ' The reason driven life' which is his reply to Rick Warren. Price writes with great wit & good humour. He looks at the wider historical context of the Bible texts. Price notes that the authors of the Bible often have more than one point to make on each topic. Higher criticism of the Bible reveals treasures that are often missed by apologetics. I have faith in Matt 7v12; The Golden Rule. see wisdomcommons for more on humanity's shared moral core

Josh, This is a good book to read and learn from, in helping us to understand that we do have a purpose on this earth and no one has to do it alone. Ignore all negative comments. No matter what you do you will always have negative comments...so pay no attention to those.
