This is a poem about the old Six Gun Territory theme park in Ocala/Silver Springs, Florida. The poem is set to a slideshow style video.

  • Nice video and poem. Thanks

  • I always picked that place over Disney

  • Thank you for bringing back the memories of my childhood! I couldn't the times we went there, but it was a new adventure every time! We lived less than an hour away, so every time family & friends came from out of state, it was time to "round 'em up, & move 'em out"... west bound to Six Gun Territory!

  • I remember always wanting to go there. Looking at the pics, I think I did.

  • Six Gun Territory was great, i really like your poem. I haven't been back to Ocala for a while, but i sure hope they got rid of the KKK and all the white racist assholes that used to live there. Come to think of it, Six Gun Territory was really the only good thing in Ocala.

  • I went once when I was six years old. I had lots of pictures of my family on the train out front. You could pose for pictures on it. My house burned down a few years back. We lost everything. The pictures are the things that haunt me the most. I have replaced everything, but the memories those old photos evoked..... I'm forty one now. That place really made an impact on me.

  • Excellent presentation :)

Like many, I too grew up in Florida and went to SGT several times in the 60's & 70's. I was truly saddened when they closed up but I'll always remember the times I spent walking those dirt roads, the train rides and the midway. It wasn't as glamorous as Disney World, which didn't appear until later on, but times were sure different back then. All kids loved a good western experience with no computers, cell phones, internet or fancy light shows.

    Just plain fun :)
