Colon Cancer Barbershop Salon Talks

Each neighborhood, culture, family, or community have different ways of sharing information. One thing we found while in South Carolina was quite unique. News and even advice is spread through barbershops and salons. With many people spending hours in a salon a week, it all seems so natural. We heard of an initiative by a gentleman named Gerald Footman to spread the word about colon cancer and raise awareness of this deadly disease through those avenues.

To the man who posted the rude video response: I am not a doctor, I am a patient and a survivor doing what I can to bring about awareness of colorectal cancer. While there are various methods to detect colorectal cancer including a colonoscopy, talk to your family doctor to see what is the best detection method for you. As a person who was misdiagnosed by the methods you suggest, get your facts straight and most importantly, get screened.
