Ron maybe pro-life personally, but so is Hilary Clinton! Ron Paul if elected President wouldn't illegalise abortion, he would let the people decide at the State level instead of the Federal. There is further no evidence to suggest that his policies are homophobic; he believes Marriage is not a Constitutional issue, let the States decide!

Ron Paul is a great supporter of Friedrich Hayek and has a picture of him in his office. Hayek wrote an essay, 'Why I Am Not A Conservative'; it criticises Conservatism's inability to adapt to changing realities or to offer a positive programme. Ron Paul is not ideologically a Conservative; there is a big difference from calling yourself a Conservative with a capital "C", and conservative with a small "c" which in his case supports America's Constitutional heritage. America has increased the size of government, intervenes in foreign affairs and fuses religion and state in a de facto way. The meaning therefore signifies that the current status quo has gone off course and we need to go back the constitution!

"right wing" and "left wing" are dead! The terms are now meaningless! It is pat of the old paradigm, for politics in practice to step in line with the paradigm shift, elect Ron Paul!

  • Would you like to move to the states and teach Americans about their govt and constitution? ..because none here [USA] have a bldn'clue about it!

  • LOL; I'd studied American history, I'm obsessed with Constitutional Law; we're going through a lot of constitutional reform in Britain and we will probably look to America for ideas.

The problem is the same here, people just don't care about constitutional issues. Ultimately though it's about protecting freedom, people shouldn't wait for their freedom to be lost!

  • Americans used to roar like lions for liberty. Now we bleat like sheep for security.

  • Actually RP is the true conservative. Both the labels "conservative" and "liberal" have been hijacked. Conservativism and liberalism are not opposite ideologies from an american perspective.

"liberals" are authoritarian socialists and "conservatives" (neocons) are theocratic expansionists who cant distinguish between a democracy and a republic.

  • Yes Im for Ron Paul but I think the libs do have a point about liberal laws disappearing if states have the right to change them because they are not popular and it takes the federal government to enforce the laws for individual rights. Absolute freedom can only be maintained in moral society otherwise anarchy will rule the day. A moral based society or a scientific tyranny are almost identical in their results for steering population. We are damned if we do and damned if we dont.

  • what is your "liberty"? Your liberty is to shit on other human beings and leave them in the gutter, you call that freedom? You libs want freedom from coercion, then you use that same freedom to abuse, either directly or indirectly. You then take no reponsibility for your action or inaction: freedom?

  • you are a douchbag

  • @AndrewFraserEsq: "Conservatism is inherently reactionary and formed out of attacking those with ideas that were against the status quo."

Sure, if these "new ideas" originate in Marxist ideology and are trojan for socialism, you know things like feminism, liberalism, "save the planet" crap, political correctness and others.

  • @Sheldonwh It was decided that a Church of USA was a bad idea (ie: Church of England) as they wanted to preserve the right of the people to worship as they saw fit. If you haven't noticed the word God all over our framing documents, you are a daft idiot.

  • @astalker Oh yes, please come teach us about Separation of Church and state. Ron Paul recently wrote, "The notion of a rigid separation between church and state has no basis in either the text of the Constitution or the writings of our Founding Fathers." So all you idiots can kiss your rights goodbye if Ron or his even crazier son Rand get into office. They're exactly the religious nut jobs I said they were years ago!

  • Still think that nut bag Ron Paul is "a genius"? Did you know that he recently said in a of 2003 essay: "The notion of a rigid separation between church and state has no basis in either the text of the Constitution or the writings of our Founding Fathers."

Genius, or religious nut job? It should be clear by now...or is that hair style fucking with your brain?

  • you read my mind. i'm an aussie and let me say i't unbelievably happy to finally see 1 english person that doesn't get all of their knowledge from either their socialist parents (all the english kids in my grade seem to have the same smug 'i know what i'm talking about' attitude) or some stoner musician (they ALL do music too). someone needs to teach americans to judge their candidates on their ideas, not them as individuals. that's why obama's heritage was such a HUGE deal during the campaign.

  • ron paul attended the national right to life convention. he's anti-abortion.
