We already know a gasifier makes gas that will power an engine that in turn will drive a generator. Nothing new. If you really want to educate, show how to simply make a gasifier with el cheapo parts.

So, how does the carb need to be set? More rich, or more lean than with gasoline?

Hey,
Syn-gas is used in a gaseous form, not a liquid. The carburetor was design to mix liquid gas with air. Therefore, we drilled out the throat of to allow much more volume thru it, and used the carb only as a throttle.

We mixed the syn-gas with air in the pre-mix manifold, before it went into the carb at about a 1:1 ratio.

Hey, if you want alternating current, why not run it to a two phase alternator without a rectifier?

I agree. Leaving a battery on the ground will definitely not damage it or even cause it to drain.

you dont need an inverter to get alternating current out of an A L T E R N A T O R even in Jefferson county. Thats what alternators make, thats why theyre called "alternators." You just remove the rectifier diodes that turn the current to DC, Viola, AC...but the cycle it puts out varies with the rpm. Fully usable AC though. YOure resourceful, you'll figure it out...Fun stuff!
