not real sure why you hooked up a converter to the batery as if the battery is charged itll run the inverter and anything connected to it (within its range of course) but the rest is a very nice presentation. To make my energy I went with 4kw solar and zero point generators but I will be adding a woodgas generator as well now. In fact I already have the plans downloaded and about 2/3rds of the materials nessisary to do so. Great job guys :)

Hello! I think these videos on the wood gasifiers are great ,because i live off grid in oregon and i don't get very much sun in the winter and use a gas generator when the sun don't shine for a couple of days and it is costly.I'm tring to make a gasifier like yours but added a couple more small filters. It is complate except for i don't know how far from the burn plate do you set the reactor/burn tube could you help me out on this?. Thank You. Barry,

Really great video chaps, really enjoyed it

Alternator are not a good way to produce electricity, the alternator needs high rpm's to work well. You could change the pulleys where the ratio is 1:3 this will allow the engine to run at 800-1200 rpms to run more efficient. This will give the alternator to spin 2400-3600 rpm's.

Come on! If you subscribe to the One world Order none sense of over population, then, yes, your concept of lack fits, but that is a proven deception.
Anyone with any sense of biodiversity and healthy knowledge of bio-life knows that sustainable and increasing yields of bio-mass is easy to do, given any moderate climate. This system makes perfect "green" sense anyplace a moderate climate exists,

A couple of questions: What kind of current output from the alternator are you gettting, and can you show what kind of fitting you are attaching to the engine? Also, how much wood is needed to run a 6 HP engine (if you know??)
I'm working on one myself and I'd like to be sure I do it right.

i cant ever seem to make the gasifier work right. even when i build to plan for the downdraft one does it need the motor to suck on it to keep the burn going

You guys are awesome, you'll Be Much better off than so many if (or when) this fragile little system we call civilization collapses. Good Job & Keep up the Great Videos!

Ok. Nice job getting it running. But limited usefulness.
In any primitive situation where you'd need this type of setup (3rd world, TEOTWAWKI) biomass fuels will be scarce and expensive. That's part of the reason why the 3rd world is being deforested. Better off with a wind/water or solar solution.

Good Comment. And your right, solar and wind do not cause deforestation, but they have other drawbacks; embedded energy in construction of some of these technologies.
The gasifier we demonstrate is mostly built from scrap material and is a technology that is adopted when conventional systems fail.
Biomass can be grown in a sustainable or even restorative manner, if Permacultural ethics are applied. Unfortunately, we humans most often choose the not to do the ethical, restorative way.
Thanks,

I understand that an "engine" can run a pulley and do work. I do not need to see it till your yard, mow your lawn. weed wack, charge batteries, run fans, turn on lights, Is this an electrical vid or a gasifier vid? If you had gauges on the gasifier showing burn temps, cross temps, or talked about air ratio on running an engine, I'm in ! otherwise I have better stuff to do. Thanks,

Come and help then and stop complaining. What do you want for nothing? Others, perhaps not as bright as you benefit from seeing a demonstration of the energy contained in wood , being turned into electricity.
The stoichiometric ratio for syn-gas is approximately 1.1:1
The temperature varies from 1600-2000F
