I recently visited some dear friends of mine, the Capuchin Sisters of Nazareth at their new Postulant house in Bastress, PA. Meet the young women preparing to become Capuchine Sisters at the Mother of the Eucharist Convent.

  • Wonderful to see a young community growing, especially since they are praying for all the priests and seminarians around the world. I hear that this year they have at least one more postulant? Would you know anything more?

  • There are two new postulants. Last years four postulants are now novices and another novice in second year.

  • You know what's kinda funny? Fr. Tom Betz O.F.M. Cap. is a Capuchin priest and is the Capuchin Vocations Director in the Province of St. Augustine and has never heard of the Capuchin Sisters of Nazareth. He is stationed in Philadelphia and never heard of them. The same state... yet he didn't know they existed.

  • They are a community under the Bishop of Scranton.

i hope that i will get that courage also one time and speak free about my religion with friends and family

    this video is realy wonderful

  • Button your blouse collar!!

  • Thank you, for this...as a Vocational Director for teens, all who have watched this --a ZILLION times-- want to know if you have a Follow Up??? Did these lovely women become novices?? Are there new postulants??

I must agree, I feel like WHAT HAPPENED??!! God Bless your work!! Sr. Christina of The Dove

  • The Catholic Church is sacrificing something in its bid to be media savvy. The whole iPriest phenomenon suggests a little too much ego for me. iChat confessionals, on the way.

Still, young nuns are cute as they've always been.

  • Thanks for that. I love what the girls said about having the freedom during adoration to pray as their hearts are drawn. One thing I have tried to express to non-Catholic friends is that silence is not "dead air" as some seem to think, but the time that the Lord speaks to us personally.

  • Very refreshing to hear these young ladies speak of their love for Christ.
