duniyaa mein hoon duniyaa ka talab-gaar nahin hoon,
bazaar se guzraa hoon kharidaar nahin hoon..

zindaa hoon magar ziist ki lazzat nahin baaqi,
har chand ki hoon hosh mein hoshiyaar nahin hoon..

is khaana-e-hasti se guzar jaaun-gaa belaus,
saayaa hoon faqat naqsh-e-deevar nahin hoon..

afsurdaa hoon ebrat se davaa ki nahin haajat,
gham ka mujhe ye zauf hai beemar nahin hoon..

vo gul hoon khizaan ne jise barbaad kiya hai,
uljoon kisi daaman se mein vo khaar nahi hoon..

yaa Rab mujhe mahfooz rakh us buth ke setam se,
main us ki enaayat ka talab-gaar nahin hoon..

afsurdagi-o-jaur ki kuch had nahin "Akbar",
kaafir ke muqaabil mein bhi deen-dar nahin hoon..

What an excellent rendition of a superb ghazal of Akbar Allahabadi by KL Saigal. At my age now having seen all the tragedies of life and death, this clear beautiful voice and wording by Saigal pierces my heart. No wonder my father always said Saigal is the greatest singer ever.

Actually, the poet is Akbar Ilah Abaadi - not Seemab Akbar Abadi.
