It has been one year since the first case of the H1N1 flu outbreak was reported in Mexico.

Warnings and strict precautions followed the deadly outbreak which caused widespread fears across the world.

But one year on, it has been reported that very few people in Mexico are getting the virus or seeking medical treatment for it.

The medical doctor who heads Mexico´s anti-H1N1 commission says "the country is completely safe".

Now questions are being asked: was the threat exaggerated?

Al Jazeera's Franc Contreras reports from Mexico City.
