I believe this artist is Lisa Arrington. Her lastest recording of this arrangement was with a string ensemble called the Fiddlesticks, but the first I heard her sing it was with piano only. We have the CD somewhere, purchased in the mid 1990s. I think the album was used in video sound tracks, pioneer sesquicentennial documentaries.

I still like the Snow version better, although the words have a special meaning

@BranIL28 Yes, this is an original Mormon hymn, penned by Eliza R. Snow, in this version being sung to a Stephen Foster tune called "Gentle Annie".

This is the original 19th Century version, It was still found in the 1910 hymnal which was edited by Even Stephens who had been the Church Music Director, and director of The Tabernacle Choir..
In the edition from 1948, through 1985, there were two versions: the James McGranahan version with which most of us are currently familiar, and an equally moving version by Lowell Mason. If you can find a copy of that old hymnal, they are on pages 138 and 139.

This is so beautiful. Music fine tunes your Spirit and grooms you to what you are. This is
abit different but the beauty of a picture just adds a special touch.
Beautiful Hymn I love listening to this song as it says "when shall i regain thy presance in your royal courts on high" that phrase makes me cry every time because i know it is so true.
