no, that was a thomsonfly 757. And that landed on 05R not 23R.

There obviously WAS a problem and the emergency services were on standby for a reason. I work at Manchester airport and I know that they have other things to do thatn sit on taxiways watching planes all day!
As for the bird strike, it was April 2007 and was a Thomsonfly 757-200. The right engine was hit by 2 herons and the aircraft made an emergency landing.

and if there was a bird strike why did the pilot use reverse thrust on the engine stated 'cos if there was a bird stike the engine would have been usless to se reverse thrust

are you sure your not talking about the thomsonfly bird strike which happend on the right engine on a 757?
Its can no Electrical its can be A Smoethink in cockpit Failure or one of system or Complete Failure of engine Lost the fuel.
