Amon Tobin - 'ISAM: Live' at Moogfest 2011

Amon Tobin wows a lively crowd at Moogfest 2011 with his visually spectacular show at the Asheville Civic Center Arena. "This is future music," one fan expressed to The Tuned Inn. We think you'll agree that this 'Best Live Act' nominated set (by the Association of Independent Music) brings a cutting-edge visual extravaganza that would fit well in a sci-fi flick.

About ISAM: Live: "A truly visual onslaught - abstract narrative, subtle and bombastic - using projection mapping, generative/audio reactive real time and pre-rendered elements combined with custom software to control the show. The visual elements have been synched to ISAM to make a large scale next level HD experience.

The show features a stunning 25' x 14' x 8' multi-dimensional/ shape shifting 3-D art installation surrounding Tobin and enveloping him and the audience in a beyond 3-D experience. Amon conceptualized the show as a projection mapped "visual score" to the music from 'ISAM.' He performs the music as a navigator of a large craft through a surreal visual narrative.'

This performance was filmed on Saturday, October 29, 2011, at the Asheville Civic Center on the second night of Moogfest by The Tuned Inn.

@lookass01 Visualizations are great and all, but Etienne isn't doing anything "revolutionary" either. I can go watch some deadmau5 or any electronic musician nowadays for some visualizations. Amon Tobin takes a much different approach making his set isometric, creating a much deeper illusion of 3 dimensional imagery. Also his images actually fit the music's "story". Rather than random visuals.
