Just bought these Newton running shoes and was trying them out on the treadmill.
Highly recommend this shoe if you want excellent support in the mid-forefoot area.
The shoe is very light but gives good support. I bought the Stability Trainer version, there is also a neutral version.
Overall i'm really happy with the shoe.

  • Saucony Kinvara Next :)

  • i normally only stay on the treadmill for 5k.

i've noticed a little seperation from the sole and the shoe at the toe where it folds up but it's still a very solid shoe, i'm just gonna super glue it closed.

  • looks great.

  • It is difficult to compare the Newtons to the major brands. The goal of the newtons is to get people to land on their midfoot/forefoot, so the structure and components of the shoe are quite difference. There is no eva or similar materials between the balls of the feet and the ground for example - in the Newtons because those materials dampen the proprioception of the foot.

It should be noted that the Newtons do not work as well on the treadmill as they do on other surfaces.

  • Have you ran in other brands like brooks or saucony? I'm curious in the comparison of top name brands vs a $200/pr

  • Cool, just bought mine. Haven't worn them yet. How long can you run on a treadmill?
