We purchased this tractor the day before the video and had it ready to start within a few hours. After cranking it over by hand for a few minutes it became clear that it wasn't going to start before we passed out...

Having no left tire yet, we couldn't pull start it. So we drug out the flat belt clipper, put a belt together really quick, and hooked up. There's no doubt about it...flat belt is the best way to start a stubborn hand-start tractor!

Tractor providing power is a 1947 JD "B". Tractor being started is a 1939 "B".

  • How long has it been since it ran?

  • We're not sure. The guy we bought it from said it ran a couple years ago, but it may have been longer than that.
