Roku exhibited its BrightSign digital signage solutions at InfoComm 2008, June 18-20 in Las Vegas, NV.
BrightSign products are non-PC, solid-state media players that support standard and high-definition video, photos, music and interactivity for both stand-alone and networked environments. It delivers superb video quality with simplicity and reliability for in-store point-of-purchase displays, museum exhibits, digital signs and interactive kiosks.
Unlike other flash players, BrightSign employs the highest quality video decoder and a professional-quality scaler to provide superior video quality to mainstream displays. And unlike PCs and DVD players, BrightSign offers high reliability due to its non-PC solid-state design that has no moving parts and a slim, robust operating system.
this sounds woeful!!

Is the most expensive type of this device capable of reproducing a simple "analog" onscreen-clock for broadcasting purposes? (like, for instance, displaying such a clock when switching from one program to another?)
