B.J. Whetstine with the Peace Corps shares how Binghamton University makes its list of major volunteer-producing colleges and universities in the nation.
Since the Peace Corps inception 50 years ago, more than 230 Binghamton University alumni have served in Botswana, Cape Verde, Guatemala, Mongolia, Ukraine and more. Theyve volunteered in all of the Corps programs: education, health, environment, small business, community and youth development and agriculture. With more volunteers than any other SUNY school, Binghamton is ranked 15th on the Peace Corps list of medium-sized volunteer-producing colleges and universities. Twenty-five Binghamton University graduates are currently serving.
