Ron Paul in 1999 - Blasts Clinton on Iraq and Wars, Predicts Terrorist Attack on American Soil

In this video, Ron Paul gives a speech on the House Floor (Feb 2, 1999) called "How Long Will The War In Iraq Go On Before Congress Notices?". In the speech, he blasts President Bill Clinton and predicts that there will be a terrorist attack on US soil if the United States continued down their path of an aggrressive interventionist foriegn policy rather than focusing on Defense.

Agreed - now that we're looking back, Iraq was pretty bad but pales in comparison to our Pyrrhic victory in WWII and the disaster in Korea, both of which we are still paying the price for.

My late grandfather fought the Germans on the frontlines from anzio till his division took Hitler's eagles nest Berchtesgaden. (3rd infantry, not the101st airborne as the propoganda miniseries Band of Brothers has people believing) I knew my grandfather well and he hated the war and only spoke of it on a handfull of occasions but he told me he and his fellow soldiers had no other choice. Sometimes, unfortunatly war is inevitable.

For the most part I agree we should stay out of foriegn affairs but sometimes you have to step in. What if we had allowed Nazi Germany and Japanese empires to continue conquering other countries? ...gets decimated by the United States under Bush Sr admin. Should we have allowed Iraq to control the Kuwaiti oilfields essentially giving them a monopoly on Oil in the Mideast region? No way in hell; and that war was provoked by Hussein. Not to mention the sick tyranny Saddam imposed on his own people including using Chemical weapons(against Iran and the Iraqi people) At least Clinton would have gone in with the approval of the UN and maybe not at all since there were no WMDs.

Ok OK I apologize for the name calling and glad to see we're on the same side; however, you didn't make yourself clear that Bush was to blame as well. The United States hasn't officially declared war since WW2 so nothing new there. Just to throw out an idea, whether the war was illegal or not, Hussein and his sons deserved everything that happened to them. He invaded Iran in the 80s and got his ass kicked despite weapons supplies from the Reagan admin. He invades Kuwait in 1990 and once again...

Except you're a complete fucking idiot. Clinton WAS impeached but not removed from office! His impeachment had nothing to do with going to war with Iraq; it was the Monica Lewinsky scandal which you already know anyway. Bush started the Iraq war without any evidence of WMDs and the few Saddam had he had destroyed. so why are you not saying Bush should have been impeached as well? I already know why.
