Rolling Thunder was released unto the grindhouse circuit sometime around 1977. It was written by Paul Schrader of "Taxi Driver" fame and starred Tommy Lee Jones in one of his earliest screen performances. It also pleased a small amount of critics, with Gene Siskel listing it on his "Ten best films of 1977" and several modern day critics praising its superiority as a deathwish film.

@generalzod4life You sum up my emotions over this film exactly..Just finished watching this movie & this scene strikes me--How he doesn't utter ifs and buts, nor ask any questions and simply begins packing up for the "mission".

When I was deployed with VXE 6 we watched this movie over and over again. My friend Jim used to say it was, "Good Hate". I guess you had to be there.

The hook in the crotch scene made me wince. good film.
