This is a bit incorrect, there's only one box in communication NOT two. The box is first sent with a key (public) inside and locked to the destination the destination adds their own key then sends it back. You then remove your key send it back, now the destination has your key and encrypted communication can begin.

The amazon video seemed more logical. This video provides no explanation of why they used two boxes instead of just locking the credit card in the second box, eliminating the need for the first one.

very good explanation, thanks!

excellent video

Why can't the Internet shop send the open box to the guy with the credit card, then he puts it in and locks it and sends it back?
Surely then there is no need for two boxes, but with the same outcome?
Thanks

And who said that the internet shop does not steal your credit card information?
