I would feel totally violated if I discovered my beliefs to be a fraud. But common sense is all it takes to see through what J.S. was trying to do. The sad thing is, the Mormons are actually very nice people, and very dedicated to what they believe. They need to continue their lifestyle, but apply the Truth to their views of Jesus and God. Joseph Smith was not who they think he was. I'm sorry, but when I was a child, they told me santa claus was real. I just had to face the facts.

Archaeology and Biblical scholarship tells us that there is absolutely no archaeological evidence for what the Bible says until and including Solomon. So..., no Solomon's temple (the so called "First temple"), no Solomon's kingdom (the so called "united monarchy"), nothing about the Jews ever been at Egypt, no Abraham, and no Adam and Eve.
So..., those Mormons say they found a book written by Abraham and in Egyptian hieroglyphics? Well, then, let us see it. Where is it?
Case closed.

Joseph Smith and Brigham Young were 33rd degree Freemasons. Joseph Smith was codifying Freemasonry and putting a thin Christian vail on it. That's why Freemasons killed him.

The Book of Abraham Itself: Composition, Rhetorical Style, and Biblical Form
Of the five chapters that make up the Book of Abraham, 4 and 5 parallel Genesis 1:1 - 31 and 2:1 - 20. Polemicists often focus on these chapters and only these to make a case for plagiarism

"Smith’s publication of the Book of Abraham in 1842 coincided with his investiture as a Master Mason; his Egyptian grammar can be seen as a template for something Masonic." E. Cecil McGavin

@kramd1 It must be nice for mormon inc. to get to enjoy the benefit of not having to pay taxes on their many business investments.

@kramd1 Yes, and now I read that with all of this required tithing....the mormons are going to build a 1 Billion Dollar shopping Mall in salt lake city, Utah. Nice use of the Lords money! And, I have to cringe everytime I see a poor person or someone suffering. And, these mormons won't help them with all of this money they have taken from their flock.

@thelion1944 Let's see I will say the nicest things I can say about joe smith. He was a con artist. He was a Liar, He was a fraud, He was a glass looker, he practiced the occult. He was immoral, He perpetrated a bank scam. He stole other people's property. He was an adulterer. He shot 3 men point blank. He hired a hit man to kill Gov. Willburn Boggs. Well, I better stop now. Those are the nicest things I can say about joe. The rest of what I can say about him will not be very nice....:)

@toxoid J.Smith's book of Abraham failed translation remains doctrinal = "plan of salvation" the purpose of life resembling more altered Kabbalah teachings.
10% temple membership fee is not a donation. LDS are required to pay this to renew their temple going membership.
tithing is a cash cow for LDS inc.
@thelion1944 Yes, joe's banking venture did not fare well. Wilford Woodruff, mormon prophet, describes how joe had a vision to start a bank. joe sent oliver cowdry to get a license from the legislature. But, they did not grant it. So joe formed an anti-bank rather than a bank. And, proceeded without a banking certificate. It is estimated the Kirtland Safety Society Anti-Banking Company lost between $25000 and $33000. Allot of money in that time. joe was fined $1000 and had to flee Ohio!
