  • lilkunta: To do the job yourself with sheet laminate costs much less than $1,000 in materials, but you'd still need the tools. To cut out the damaged section and replace would be tricky, and likely require a router to make a straight cut in the plastic, which would also cut into the plywood, requiring further repair. Then find a perfect color match, cut the sheet to fit exactly. Even then it's almost impossible to disguise the seam. This is why pros would prefer to re-cover the whole thing.

  • @lat3llc OK, I am ready to talk. I have about 35 sf of countertop, and a 15 sf of table top to cover. 9549774292

  • Thanks for posting this, very helpful.

Why are people saying to put the edge strips first? Seems they'd get damaged when trimming the laminate on the top. Just wondered.

  • the edge strips should be applied first and then they will be covered with the surface sheet also the seam will not be exposed to water.

  • Just what I needed. I'm an experienced wood worker, but have never put laminate down. This makes the task clear.

  • Very Informative Video Guy. Thanks a Million

  • Before you use the table saw to cut your laminate, always make sure your blade is on the correct way!!

  • Great video, not many others show it from start to finish. One question though - what about joins in the laminate? My area is too big for one sheet and so need to join two areas of laminate together. Do I just do it as it says and then treat it with something?

  • IMPORTANT! Always glue the edge on FIRST before you put the large piece of laminate on the top.

  • Great , Thanks
