This was originally issued on the DeLuxe label (distributed by King) and produced by Bud Hobgood (d. 1970) who'd also worked with James Brown. Indeed, this seemed to bear the unseen hand of JB with the horns and funk vibe. Alas, this Presidents group, from what I've read, was a 6- or 7-man band that originally hailed from Indiana and was NOT the same group of "5-10-15-20-25-30 Years of Love" fame.
