I like the JCA20H a lot, but added some of my "stuff" like a 2nd channel (2 gainstages), a tube driven loop (added one ECC83), relays and such . . . The gainpot is a push-pull now to switch channels, on the frontplate is an additional pot (ch 1 volume) while the original master vol pot is now the channel vol for channel 2. On the back are a global master, depth and besides the jacks for the loop a mix pot to run it in series or parallel mode.
Guitar is an Edwards JS Les Paul with Rockinger Pickups, miced is a V30s with a SM57 and a Superlux CM mic into Quicktime into iMovie.

The delay in the loop a an Excalibur Analog Device Delay run in parallel mode.

  • Super geniale Geschichte. Machst du das auch als Auftragsarbeit? Und gibts das auch mit Footswitch? Der Sound haut mich wirklich um...

  • Danke Dir.

  • Sweet mods. You only mod your own gear?

  • Wonderful! Do you offer a diy mod kit?

  • hab mir den amp jetzt auch bestellt und würd mir gern eine effekt-loop einbauen! Is das sehr aufwändig?

LG

  • Hope you can help......

I am a little confused by the primary impedance on that OT. Two EL84 tubes in almost every amp we have run across would be around 8k. That sticker is showing a primary impedance of 3.6k. This seems very, very low for two EL84 tubes. Is it not??

If so what would be a good after market upgrade to the OEM OT

  • it could. I was actually thinking of doing a 4 tube build but i love the way it sounds after adding the depth control and extra channel.

  • I'd say you nailed it! Great TONE. Just curious are you planning to make this upgrade available as a kit? If yes I'm getting it. Also this is with the stock transformers? WOW.

  • XCELLENT!! du bis di man!! haha Can a channel switching foot switch be added?

  • Sounds amazing!

  • it would be cheaper and better to just put a new set of 12ax7's and el84's in it. Maybe Mesa Boogie tubes...?
