11 years as a doorman (no I'm not bragging by the way) but proper door staff would have controlled the situation a hell of a lot better and quicker without letting this clown make a mockery of them. These guys seem like typical glorified stewards.

Comes down to cost-cutting also at the end of the day - why pay £10 an hour to a doorman when you can get 2 stewards for £12 an hour (£6 each) ??

@DW01 Working a a regular nightclub or pub is diffrenet though because if you fuck up you lose alot of hours.

Not only that but you work with a regular team.

Concert/festival security is a joke. As long as you dont bash anyone too badly it dosen't matter what you do.

If you get fired from a concert big deal.. they wont remember next year and even if they do they will probably be so desperate for guard they will hire anyone

true but they never have proper doorstaff at concerts and festival -- they just get whoever they can find.

Because they need so many guard and these event are only once a year ( ie if you fuck up big deal they will probably forget next year) the is no need for the bosses to put there "A" team.

They needed to remove the guy from that area, and they were letting to many people get involved. Sort the problem with as little fuss as possible then get on with your job..

Being honest there are doormen that do that but they are the minority-always have been...Most people only ever see the ending of trouble whereby some idiot has been choked or smacked by doormen, they don't consider the build up or what's might have gone on in the past... Doormen are not angels and have emotions like anybody else, you swing for me, if i dont bash you there and then i will next time i see you.
