Battlestations Pacific U.S. campaign walkthrough mission 13: Invading Iwo Jima (Part 1)

A walkthrough of mission 13.

Part 1

Hidden Objective(s): Prevent any transport ship from being sunk; The main threats to the transport ships are the Chika Carriers, torpedo bombers, and the suicide boats. Use your air power wisley to prevent any transport ship from being sunk. The transports themselves are quite vulnerble and don't take many hits to sink. If you keep all of the transport ships afloat at the end of the mission you will have completed the hidden objective.

Secondary Objective(s):
1. Destroy the airfield hangars; There are two aircraft hangars located on the main island in this mission. Taking them out will not only complete a secondary objective, but will also stop the flow of Chika Carriers attacking your ships. Use F4Us to destroy them the fastest, but keep in mind you might have to break off and attack the planes and or/ boats that will attack the transports and other ships in the fleet.

2. Destroy the patrol boat stations; There are 3 patrol boat stations on this mission. These stations will constantly spawn groups of suicide boats until you take them all out. The suicide boats are deadly against ships and will wreak havoc if they are not dealt with. Once again F4Us are recommended to complete this objective. If you have destroyed all the PT boat stations and the hangars you will have completed the secondary objectives.

Completing this mission on any diffuclty does not unlock anything.
Completing this mission with a gold rank (completing ALL the objectives) does not unlock anything.

Well I do that so I don't cut out any of the cut scenes by accident by accident since my capture card takes a little while to start recording. Sorry if it bothers you.

While playing on Multiplayer, I saw a B-29 bomber formation heading towards my teams headquarters. They were perfectly in formation, like in this mission. My teammates were saying "Oh ****." It's not everyday you see that. Also, on island capture, you should have shidens if your on the Japanese side. They help if your facing heavy bombers.
