Tragedy befell Kiambu where at least 20 construction workers are trapped in the rubble of a building that collapsed on Monday. At least one person has been confirmed dead and more than 10 others have sustained injured of various degrees. Rescue efforts have slowed down owing to poor weather. NTVs Nimrod Taabu covered the incident in Kiambu town.
When people go to work at 8a.m. where does the building inspector/town council inspector go to? Does he also go to work?

But why can't we ever learn? If you have enough money to build such a structure, why not invest in quality materials?
Also, why are the police allowing more Kenyans to endanger their lives by trying to "rescue"? I understand their desire to help, but it is too dangerous for ordinary folks to attempt rescue at such sites. Jamani!!!

Army? Are you serious? The Kenya army is supposed to be fed and kept in the barracks. That is their job. Even if we had Mugingo, they are not supposed to go there.

If it was America, the builder here would be thinking of how he will pay perhaps up to 1 billion shillings. No joke. No joke. But here, the guys will go scot-free. The poor who die are like chicken. No compensation.

This is what i was saying, where were the police to seal off the area? the collapsed building still looked like it would crumble further. Where is the disaster responce unit? Experts like the army should have been there doing the job.
