On November 22, 2008 a memorial service was held at Apex Airport (WA05) in Silverdale Washington to celebrate the life of David D. Brophy, who shared his life with us and died on November 13th, at an age of 73 years. A portion of Daves ashes were dispersed over Apex Hill during this celebratory fly-by.

Dave was born in Roseland, Nebraska, Sept. 9, 1935, to Micheal & Murtle Brophy. He attended Roseland High School, then joined the United States Air Force and served from 1953-1957 where he received his training as a aircraft Engine Repair Mechanic.

After his Air Force career, he worked at small Seattle based aircraft manufacturer, The Boeing Company. In the late '60s he started his own business, David Aircraft & Engine Repair at Apex Airport. On March 15th, 2008 his professional career culminated with Dave being honored by the Federal Aviation Administration in being presented the prestigious Charles Taylor "Master Mechanic" award and being recognized for being a licensed A&P for over 50 years.

Dave will be missed.
