@deafaviator I have to take your word for it, but how do you get clearances and stay in communication with ATC?
Do you just stay in G space?

hey, i didnt know that either and keen to learn to fly after my university hopefully! however i must highlight of what you said 'maybe work for RAF', its not possible, i did wanted to a RAF pilot but after enquiring from RAF, no hearing impairment individuals are allowed even on ground crews! Perhaps i might see you in the air sometimes!

Hey! great video i didnt know many deaf people do flying. am deaf and i cant wait for my career of flying or maybe work for raf but am not sure cause am deaf but i can hear good and talk good :P am not sure if i might get in to work for the raf. well done great video

@phillip, What I understand is that the rating in this case will have the limitation that requires a qualified co-pilot (one who also has an IFR rating) to handle radio communications...and that the co-pilot will be expected to relay clearances and other pertinent info to the deaf pilot , and vice versa. The deaf pilot is still considered to be PIC during these type of flights.

Actually Phillip, we do have a several deaf pilots with IFR ratings.
