He's not hitting it note-for-note. He's harmonizing with it. He's playing the lower melody parts. Not the higher part that immediately grabs your attention. But not bad, I can't do that. YET.

Since when is playing the lower part not hitting it note for note? I do make technical mistakes in this video, but I play both lead parts of the song accurately, in terms of the notes themselves.
