After her well publicised drug addiction and problematic marriage to bad boy Bobby Brown, no-one was expecting Whitney Houston to pick up where she left off.

Still thousands of fans turned up on the opening night of her Australian tour to see an artist who has sold more than 170 million albums.

And when you've paid up to $170.00 Australian dollars for the privaliage you're entitled to expect a performance.

To say Whitney was off key would be an understatement, and she got through just two songs before appearing exhausted.

Some fans were less than impressed

But her promoter Andrew McManus said he was proud and honoured to be associated with such an "amazing talent."


He followed that by saying people who expected to hear Houston of 20 years ago, should go buy a CD. Judging by Australia's reaction better that than a ticket to one of her concerts.

@gregboyds1 Whether she was a queen of crack it doesn't matter, what matter must was her salvation and she made it through. She was a child of God. She is now resting in the arms of Jesus. God is not going to remember whatever wrong she did here on earth because she has been forgiven. I pray that you have a heart of love for man kind. Rest in peace Whitney, we will always love you.
