Here we go with some more exhaust mods, a certain state trooper didn't really like the straight pipe, so now I've got a Flowmaster Super 40 muffler. I is 3" center inlet/outlet. I welded it in, and built a couple of new mounts for the exhaust, so all is well!

  • Yeah I'm sure, it's my truck.....

  • nice thanks man iam thinking about levein the stock pipe and just replaceing the mufflers with pipes would that sound sick? ps how many miles are thease motors good too mine has 103k

  • Straight piped would sound awesome, but you would get a ticket in no time with that. Just put some glasspacks in there, it is loud but no too loud, and it sounds like a big block.

As far as durability, it depends on care, if you treat it nice it should get you 200-300K, beat on it and you might get 150K

  • I fucking hate diesels

  • I fucking hate diesels

  • sounds good, I had a old 6.2 but I had just plain straight pipes on it. It was sooooo loud! but I'm getting a 89 6.2 diesel again. wondering if I should take my flow off my truck now, and save it for this diesel. do you still get the right back pressure on ur truck with the flow? That's the only thing I'd worry about. straight piping a diesel, well you loose a shit ton of power... from experience.

  • Diesel + Flowmasters = AWESOME! Why have I never thought of that before?

  • my k5 blazer 6.2 diesel got 6 inch lift with 44s and 1 ton axles with 4 speed/205, its got over 400k still runs strong can spin all 4 44s they can run long time and i run mine hard too... i heard some get over 600k miles. my friend gave me a banks turbo with exhaust for $150 gotta install it see what it do.... hey buddy sounds good with the flowmasters.....

NO that is all WRONG information. The olds 350/5.7L diesel was based on the gas block but is strengthened to handle the extra compression. Not strong enough though. The 6.2/6.5L are a completely different engine made by a completely different company. It's actually a detroit diesel and it uses typical small block chevy mounts so it might seem like a converted block. That is the main reason these engines never got the credit they deserve.

  • I think the flowmasters sound better than straight piped. Kinda deeper tone, you know?

  • I had the Flow 40's on my 94' GMC Sierra. Like your truck in the video, she was a wicked beast. The neighbors hated me for a long time. The GMT 400's still remain my favorite trucks including my 1989 K1500 which I would trade in a second over my 08' Sierra.

  • @norcalfiremen . by the way my truck has 755,625 km on the factory motor and its never been touched at all, not a word of a lie. and its had the piss drove out of it for the 19 years we've owned it. just give her regular maintainance and she will probably outlive you haha

  • @norcalfiremen i have true duals on my 6.2 straight piped through factory exhaust and it sounds great. its loud as hell when you want it to be but just cruising around you would never notice its straight piped. its a really unique sound and i love it ha
