@juliabohemian Asystole means the heart is already depolarised. There's nothing to shock. First line of treatment for asystole is to administer drugs like atropine or epinephrine with continuous CPR. The only reason why doctors choose to shock an asystole is when they have strong guts that the flat line is actually fine V-fib. So conclusion, there's no point shocking asystole because it cannot be reversed.
