Buck Stevens joins us for the latest installment of Rockabilly Revival. Buck sits down to talk about the difficulty of writing an original rockabilly tune and how waxing his father's car as a kid started him off as a rockabilly musician.

  • @Blacksardine Carl Perkins used a goldtop Les Paul, Franny Beecher used a Les Paul Custom with Bill Haley, Chuck Berry used a Les Paul Custom very early on in 1956, Roy Orbison used a Les Paul Custom when he was at Sun records. Les Pauls have been around since 1952 - predates the ES 335 by 6 years, kinda makes sense that some of the rockabilly guys used them. He sounds great on it. I'd prefer a P90 one for this sort of music though....

  • So why are we playing rockabilly on a gold-top Les Paul? Tone?? Get an ES175 or a 335 but not a solid body Gibson. A solid body Tele, okay, but not a Les Paul!

  • is that Eddie Clendening playing acoustic guitar for Buck?

  • Great video! A lot of talent. I bet he has an awesome Mama.

  • He rocks!
