This is just a short demonstration of the new flight simulator that was released on march 31, 2011. A lot of complaints about the game being unplayable (due to bugs) makes it seem that nobody can fly it at all in the whole wide world.

Even though I'm looking forward to further patches to fix small issues, I'm very happy with the sim so far.

My computer specs:
Asus P6T Deluxe
Core i7 920 @ 2.67Ghz
6GB DDR3 RAM
Windows Vista 64-bit
Zotac GeForce GTX 580 1536MB Amp! Edition
Nvidia Driver: 266.58
Screen resolution: 1920x1080

  • @yngvefoshaug, Im sorry to say, i think you are being disrespectful towards the il2 community that already tested the game and had complains about it. You running a little solo flight doesn't prove the game runs good, neither calling the others players that have pretty high end computers and have been simming for decades, whiners.Guess we all have to be patient and hope the game improves.

  • @2009BFL Writing on forums with constant CAPS LOCK and calling for class-action lawsuits is whining. Complaining that a five year old laptop doesn't run a brand new flight sim is whining.

Reporting bugs and asking for help in actual english without constant swearing is on the other hand NOT whining.

It has nothing to do with disrespect... besides, this vid is getting old.

PS: I have also been simming for decades and feel I am just as much part of the "il2 community" as anyone else.

  • @yngvefoshaug what joy stick do you use? :)

  • @jugs554433 My trusty old Saitek X45 from 2004 :)

  • Hi Mate

I'm Wondering, will a Vista with Service pack 2 work fine for IL-2 Cliffs of Dover?

I'm Just double checking by the way :)

    Thanks :)

  • @Frserthegreenengine I'm running on Vista SP2 (64-bit), and it's no problem :)

  • @Rekreated1 indeed kind sir, lest we forget.. here here..

  • @gamerbwoi Series specs my friend and i like your style..it just about runs ok...lol.This is the first game that cripples me little baby, all games everything maxed out including fsx+orb+rex with a wee config tweak, guess it had to happen at some point.Think ill bury it for 10 years till computers and updates make it playable maxed out lol, take care sir......

  • @Rekreated1 gtx 570 sli pal, with an ssd and an i5.. it just about runs okay on my comp.. but ill tell you this.. its a turd game..

  • Never whined once regarding il2 cod, however this brought my meager system phenom 2 quad@3.2ghz,amd hd6870,6 gigs ram....to a bloody halt regardless of all recent patch updates. The game just looks awfull on low settings and there was no reason not to use the wings of prey engine which looked fabulous and had serious optimisations which could be played on even the modest pc...went back to il2 1946 up3&hsfx 5 which in my own opinion is the better sim...with respects sir.

  • @GetTheMopInc NO! the better is il2-1946.

Check on official forums, people want their money back. This game is crap.

  • is this better than wings of prey?

  • @yngvefoshaug Look, all gamers are going to complain if a game comes out low quality. Comapnys are doing that more and more, and we need to stop them. EA for example, released BF3 before it was done. they worked diligently to fix all the bugs but STILL, it could have used another few months in production. I agree, respect should still be held, they WILL eventually fix it. but buying a new game and having it broken is just plain old disappointing, and it sucks so much.
