There is no solid cure for sickle cell disease. Bone marrow transplant are used in some cases but there are many complications. The bone marrow must be a near perfect match to yours, and that can be difficult to obtain. In many cases, if you have a sibling then it is possible.
However, there is a chance that your body rejects the bone marrow. It is called Graft vs Host disease. Your already functioning immune cells see the transferred bone marrow cells as foreign and being to attack them.

There is a treatment (not a cure) named Nicosan that reduces the frequency and severity of SCD crises.
