@ajitdb I'm an outsider, please forgive, I don't understand the nuances of traditional Indian music but I appreciate the gentleman's lamentations on this breakaway from the norm. Still I can't help admire the skill of RV and his friends. To perform any classical music you need to be a technician rather than an artist. You're copying. Some classical musicians can't improvise at all so I would say that RV is an artist more than a mere technician. Let the technicians be and the artist be.

veena and tavil is enough!!!!!!!!!

Where is the humility, where is the tradition? Hard to watch....A very skilled player, but the great masters of olden times where not fools. They thought of all the combinations and decided on certain ones to pass on. Fusion is a failure, just an experiment. What is the the shaking of the head part... is that the moksha part? I do that in the shower every morning! ha ha...But yes, I know, he has many fans. Let it be. There are still artists carrying on tradition like K.S. Narayanaswami's bhani.

whats really the point of sharing what you dont like with the world on the web?
Music is a healing force. Always!
If you dont like the mirror it does not really help you to destroy it in any way....
Maby to deep, but still......... :)

artist is not the one who enjoys himself in action, but the one who enjoys himself in action while putting the audience into the same feeling that he/she is in. This video has truly exemplified excellence. Music is something that leads to moksha, not just to the performer but for the audience too. I am overwhelmed at the performance.

this nadaswaram artist ia fantastic!(i cannot comment about vaidhya)

This video seems to have offended some. But isn't art is all about learning something off the books and using creativity to extend it? Vaidhya has just done that. He is not performing; rather he is living his music and it shows. Hard to imagine how this could depressing anybody. Hats off to his skills.
