No it has to do with population control. Of course a world wide depression puts em in power, but what to do after? Cant have the masses rise up against you (which is a high probability in a poor destitute, unemployed mass of people).

You could very well be right that that is all they need when the planet is plunged into a worldwide depression,

But I believe more that "man made global warming" (which i believe is a hoax), is going to be used more as a eugenics program than a totalitarian takeover, the whole "carbon footprint" thing and not having babes cause it increases it, which alex does show a little of but I don't think touches enough on.

Don't get me wrong. I think Jones has got a lot, but not all, of it right. I just don't buy that Global Warming and Carbon Credits will be used as a pretext for a totalitarian takeover. They don't need it as an excuse. If the planet is plunged into a worldwide depression, which I believe is a very real possibility, the ensuing chaos will be all the excuse they need.
