At the Jazz Band Ball - Cottas Club Jazz Band - DVD Life

This video was recorded in 2008-Feb-15 in Casa da Cultura of Rio Maior - Portugal. It also makes part of the Cottas Club Jazz Band LIVE 2008 DVD.

The "Cottas Club Jazz Band" has its origins in 2003 and comes from Bombarral - Oeste - Portugal. Playing Dixieland music from the origins, the repertoire is dated form the 1920's but with a sound and style based on the Armstrong recorded tunes of the 1950's.

Playing for fun, the group also acquired a sousaphone in order to strength their visual e sound links to New Orleans, the birth of traditional Dixieland Jazz style.

Besides the word "cotas" in Portuguese, means "old style", for this groups "fun & happiness" are the best words to remember them.
