Lacy was favourite and did not win a single round. Calzaghe schooled lacy and took the title in 97 from a legend in Eubank. Add to this his fantastic win over another undefeated champ in Kessler to unify the division. And so to his final 2 fights... Beats B Hop and crushes Jones for fun.. End result Joe undefeated, 20 world title defences!

No doubt that Calzaghe was a good fighter, but Brits always us the Lacy argument to defend his legacy. Lacy was overrated from day one. Wayyyy overrated! After losing to Joe, and others, Roy went on to treat Lacy like a child in the ring. It wasn't even a fight. And this is Roy Jones' skills greatly diminished...as they were in the Calzaghe fight. Jones' corner didn't even know how to handle his cut eye as he had never been cut before! Amazing!! In his prime he would have toyed with Calzaghe.

I give calzaghe credit he mauled lacey and beat him down, he did well with hopkins as well although i do feel there should have been a rematch there, but prime roy jones jr would have straight up clowned calzaghe no question, just look what james toney did to danny green and danny green was able to beat jones nowadays, since his drop from heavyweight he was never the same, the guy could've been the greatest him and tyson probably the biggest missed opportunities to be the greatest.

Roy was way past his prime he would whoop Calzaghe's ass if they had fought in the 90's for example! Roy's game is based on reflexes and speed and now when he lost both those things he is weak! And many other guys beat Lacy after the Calzaghe fight! And Calzaghe decisioned him but Roy stopped him

Calzaghe onli had 2 knock-outs away from being equal to Trevor Berbrick & Ken Norton. Calzaghe had 11 knock-outs in the first round. And even the best boxers of today say Calzaghe hits hard. You should try and spar with Joe Calzaghe and feel for yourself how hard he hits. Joe had more knock-out victories than Tony Tubbs, Jimmy Ellis, Michael Spinks. END OF.
