  • Very interesting to see a unit tackle this composition. There is way more to this piece than meets the eye (or rather, ear).

i have transcribed the whole arrangement and every refrain is very different in many ways. Therec was never another Miles recording quite like this track !!

  • @monsterjazzlicks Thanks for checking out our video man! You're right, it's a pretty complex tune, and the way the "Real Book" has it written out is kinda misleading...we tried to play the melody more by feel, which is probably what Miles and the band did too! Thanks again

  • This video is incredible

  • @downnola620 i am sure that is exactly what Miles/Wayne did (as they had been extending this concept (esp.) since 'Miles Smiles' onwards.

The 'Real Book' version is the worst representation i have ever seen !!

i will let you know if i am successful in getting my full-score arrangement published.

  • this is a very beautiful composition of miles davis, and its really good to see someone playing that stuff!!! stuff is from "miles in the sky"(not from bitches brew), for me the greatest album of miles beneath "a tribute to jack johnson".great!!!!

(anyone got miles in the sky on mp3? i lost my vinil long time ago-i didn loose it, i lent it, you know)

  • Very Delicious.

  • Excellent groove. I would like to see this group play a stronger composition--and then extemporize on it(there are motifs on Bitches Brew that should've been built into a composition--that bass clarinet thing for example). It would be cool also to twist the time more--by having someone maintain the 4 and others layer odd time sigs. Even with the poor quality of the recording I can still tell these guys are solid players.
