We show you the latest in Bell Helmet Shield Technology for 2010. Bell is offering a photochromatic shield for the Star and Vortex helmets that works. It has the ability to go from clear to about a dark tint level and everything in between. The shield was developed by Bell and Transitions.

  • How much sun is needed to turn that thing dark? I don't mind having a dark shield when it's cloudy, just the night is an obvious problem but i HATE clear shields, so this idea sounds perfect....

  • @jikonko28 The level of tint offered is dependent on the level of sunlight present. It basically offers just the right level of tint for the conditions. This is an amazing product and it works just as advertised.

  • does the new shield fit the rs-1 now as well?

  • @shummyshum Yes sir I use the same shield on the RS-1, Star and Vortex

  • i've heard that it isnt really clear enough at night, that it is a "85% solution". i have not seen this shield in person, but i'm really hoping to get it!

  • @shummyshum No I would disagree with this. The shield is completely clear out of the sun.
