@LaBelleHelene Chernov cannot hold a candle to him in my humble opinion

Sir George was amazing and such a darling. He always reminded me of my grandfather whom I just adored.

I saw this production when this was new and think that this is fab - Kiri is in her best, freshest voice - at the Met she was not so fresh despite being alongside Domingo, who was marvelous of course.....

I love him!! Sir George is... amazing!, so sweet!!
And she... She's she!!, with her unique velvet voice...
Completely agree about the MET production! I don't know very well Agache's voice or work but, about the main character, I guess I still prefer Chernov...
Thanks!! ;D*

In general, and again in my humble opinion, the MET production is superior. All the characters seem more real. Here, I felt the performers were not performing but just singing and that's evident in the love duets... they seem everything but in love.
