you're welcome for the 7.62x39

I just got my ar done with the 7.62 and have a new 30Rd magazine from some company. But they arent the frankenmags like are usually around. Ill get the maker and post them up have put over 5,000 rounds through my 6 mags and not one problem yet.

I have a DPMS also, but in .223/5.56 - wish I hadn't done that now. I never even shoot it anymore. I had several SKS's and a Russian AK in the early 90's sure wish I had them now. I'll keep the 5.56 cause I have tons of ammo for it.
I'll get another AK or 3 also, but my next addition is going to be something that shoots the old Swede - the 6.5x55. That's just an amazing round. I'm looking at all the possible ways to get into a semi-auto in that round. Might have to build one.

Steel-cased ammo and hard Berdan primers are no problem for Geissele Automatics triggers. Sets them off reliably, consistently. Accuracy is greatly improved from stock OEM trigger with ~10 millisecond lock time to less than half, compared to a Remington 700 bolt-action of ~2.5 millisecond lock time.

HAs kick! Ammmo is cheaper and all over the world. 6.8 at .90 cents rnd! If they come up with 17 hmr in AR , that little bullet does some damage, blows shit up.The rnd totally desentergrates,

@comutek I have original Colt 30rd and 20rd AK47 style 7.62x39 AR15 magazines. They work a lot better.
has anyone ever tried the 30 rd mags? i wonder how they perform. if they work well, i might get the 20" upper from DPMS in 7.62x39. BTW, good song.

I tried the DPMS, USA, and C-Products magazine with no consistent success.

wouldn't 7.62 nato be considered ar-10?
deliveryboy1 2 years ago
yes 7.62 Nato would be an AR-10 but this gun shoots 7.62 x 39, a completely different round.

I've been thinking of going 7.62, but I' guessing that I'd need a 7.62 lower as well? Keep the CAKE rocking!!! Not many know!

The 7.62 x 39 uses the standard 5.56/.223 lower. If you go 7.62 x 51 you will need the larger AR-10 receiver.
