Hi, I see this C-5 trainer almost everyday, live right near the flight pattern. They don't like to fly on Mondays....
-
I absolutely love the C5. I remember the first time I saw one at TInker AFB. Huge and slow. The whale of aircraft.

Completely depends where you are and what phase of flight these things are in. Being directly under one on takeoff/landing is amazing.

I was to busy keeping my bearing to be able to watch'em touch n' go at Lackland. Then that sound soon became associated with being deployed.

Costs a ton to keep operational too. AND that's before the fuel expenses. Couple of grand of the tax payers per hour lol, but I don't mind, it's aviation! :D We pay to keep this in the air! :D
Very nice. Very nice. Love C-5's and the sound of their engines.

Thanks! Yea, it was amazingly loud in person. My ears were ringing.

They must have been reving up pretty loud. When the C-5 was here last summer, it wasn't really that loud, just kind of that entrancing low buzzing.

Yea, when they are nearly idled back (just like this video) they are much louder.
