10 Reasons Why Capitalism IS GREAT! (half-parody-half reality)

1) It gave us Benny Goodman, Elvis and The Beatles.
2) Capitalism provides us an economic system with that uses the price mechanism to help us manage our scarce resources.
3) We were told in the 1850s that we would run out of coal. In the 1970s we were told that population growth would cause rampant starvation throughout the world. The current assertions that we will run out of natural resources are just as false.
4) Capitalism allows for voluntary interpersonal relations. The foremost voluntary relation is the free market (capitalism). The market-place and the interpersonal relations it spawns are society. The market permits mutual gain amongst people. It allows them to be sociable. If you are against voluntary relations then you support involuntary relations. In effect, you support slavery.
5) Happiness is a choice people must make. No system known to man can guarantee happiness.
6) TV for all the educational shows on the History Channel, A&E and National Geographic Channel.
7) Trade agreements are not capitalism but government-managed trade. These will exist as long as governments exist.
8) Free trade allows us to benefit from the economic concept of comparative advantage and from the social concept of mutual interdependence. No nation can be totally self-sufficient.
9) Corporations like Apple and Wendy's. One started in a garage and the other by a high school drop out. A system that allows all to succeed.
10) A system that maximizes freedom will give us the good and the bad. Hence, we have Britney Spears and the Beatles.
Bottom line: Capitalism gave us civilization, and gives us continued higher living standards

Capitalism allows for voluntary personal relationships: and that's about it. The idea of markets is just bullshit. They don't exist in reality. It's just a plutocracy guided by a gilded class of capitalists who take everyone else's ideas and innovate nothing! Markets are great, but they need a government to restrict the power of the gilded class.

actually im pretty sure sputnik 1 the ussr/invention from a socialist country and first satellite/object made by people gave way to advance communications like radio,internet,tv,video games hence making all these inventions not of capitalism but socialism capitalism just stole and profited.also no socialist

the main problem is that we're stuck on these words, capitalism, socialism, communsim, and their definitions, when in reality, most people have/want some capitalism and some socialism...a socialist democracy, no one extreme can be beneficial....the middle ground is where it's at...peace
