Not to sound harsh, but if they direly need funding; why are some of them wearing relatively good clothing, and why is there all that fresh food in these "slums"?

HanChineze: In Roman times just how would you define "Western"? I think you should give up on this "we" and "them" mentality and start to take personal responsibility instead. You live in the UK for God's sake...what exactly is your real point? You benefit from all of the things you constantly bash. If you want to "walk the talk" then move back to China and work for the poorest of the poor and stop your whining and bitching and do somethin other than playing on the internet.

@Thepiratejoe the people in kibera take lots of pride in their aperance, they need lots of funding, in the slum their were people in rags and the fresh food is bought in really cheaply and they try to sell it to make a profit. if you went to kibera you would understand it is horrible and extremely poor and they need lots of funding!

It's just sometimes when I see images on T.V, it almost seems like they have no food or clothing whatsoever. I really wish there was a more direct way to help; often times I feel as if big-name organizations syphon off money people donate to help people like that. Thanks for the quick reply.
