  • I have a 05 GTO and was gonna take it to the track soon but mine has 19" aftermarket rims on it. Would they slow it down since their bigger and heavier then the stocks?

  • @imide. Yes they will slow you down a little bit. The main issue with 19s is they that short sidewalls will make the wheelhop more pronounced and you risk damaging your rear.

  • 245/45 17 RE01s. AutoX tire, stiff sidewall bad for dragracing.

Are you M6 or A4? It is simple, if you spin to much launch at a lower RPM.

On any street tire you should do NO burnout, just spin the tires enough to get any dirt off.

  • Nice. I havent had a chance to run my Goat Yet. Have an 04 6Spd. Hopefully ill be in low 13's, but well see lol

  • @RiceKiller191

With a 6speed 04 you will need to be one heck of a driver to get low 13s. 6speeds are slightly slower in a dragrace, and way less consistent, plus you have slightly less power being a LS1.

Minimum you need should invest in a good shifter. If you install longtube headers and a tune you will be making the same power as a LS2 though.

  • Yaa, ops, I will dig out that ticket. It was 107.XX mph.

  • @need2speed94 thanks, this is a little extraneous, but i recently ran 12.8 at 108 from adding a tune and drag bags. 8.3 eighth mile. who knows. i put down 355/355. i think you're right about it though. just too many different factors involved to compare my runs to his.

  • @whatever177177 Maybe he was at a different elevation or the track was a different temperature. You/him could have been making a lot less power if one of you were at a much higher elevation... maybe he'll correct me but this would be my guess.

  • i have an 06 on mt et streets... and i went to the eighth the other night and ran consistent 8.9's... how the hell did you get 8.3??

i was powerbraking to 2000 rpm and going wide open, not so much as chirping the wheels. no spin whatsoever.

    advice?

  • wat did you rev ur engine up to while waitin at the line?

  • drive it hard and dont spin it should run low 13s high 12s

  • A4 I have the factory tires too. It probably just is me at too high rpms. But that's a badass time

  • How did you get that time with regular tires? Mine spins them too much. You got stocks? And the 17s or the 18s?
